Introduction to Umpiring – Wednesday 16th October 2024

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is for all players, coaches, teachers, returning players, who would like either begin their umpiring journey or become more knowledgeable about the rules of netball

Venue: Wesley College

Time: €15 with whistle/€10 without whistle

To complete the C award, candidates will also need to do a practical assessment which will have an additional cost of €50. 

Europe Netball B Award Umpire Course – Sunday 6th October 2024

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is for C umpires who want to take the next step on the umpiring pathway.

Course Outcomes

  • Apply the rules in a more demanding game environment 
  • Understand the match guidelines
  • Begin to play advantage where appropriate
  • Have a better understanding of the importance of vision, positioning and timing
  • Demonstrate the difference between contact that does or does not interfere with play
  • Utilise effective game management techniques

Entry Requirements

Must be a Europe Netball C award or equivalent.  *All qualifications  issued outside Netball Ireland must have a photo sent by email to the umpiring convenor no later than Friday 20th September for validation.

Time: 9.30 – 4 pm

Price: €150 (Price includes – Course delivery (theory and practical)
To complete the B award, candidates will also need to do a written paper, fitness test, practical assessment which will have an additional cost of €50.

Europe Netball C Award Umpire Course – Saturday 5th October 2024

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is the first step in the Europe Netball Umpiring Pathway. It’s perfect for those who want to become a qualified Europe Netball umpire.

Course Outcomes

• Improve your understanding and knowledge of the rules of the game
• Understand the requirements for the Europe Netball C Award
• Improve your umpiring skills by identifying/observing and penalising infringements of the rules
• Be able to demonstrate how positioning, movement and vision impacts an umpires performance
• Begin to develop an awareness of when it is appropriate to play advantage
• Have an awareness of Contact v Contest
• Understand the importance of Game Management for control and discipline

Entry Requirements

Minimum age is 13 years to access the course however learners must be 14 years to complete practical assessment.

Time: 9.30 – 4pm
Price: €150 (Price includes – Course delivery (theory and practical), plus one attempt at Online Written paper)

Upcoming Level 1 Coach workshop

Europe Netball Launched their Foundation Level Coaching Course in December 2021. The Foundation Level Coaching is an introduction to the basic delivery and knowledge skills required for a new coach.

There are two upcoming coaching workshops to become a Level 1 coach. Spots are limited, be sure to register early.
